Should have won that 5 - 1…some of the misses were unbelievable.
That should be Emery’s last game…The Arse were pathetic.

I’m blaming that twat you photographed at the game.
‘He’ celebrated too early. Well, you and @anal1 can share the blame.
I’ve no fucking clue who the guy in the picture is. I just googled ‘handsome as fuck saints fan in the Arsenal end’ and that was the first image.
Believe me when I say ‘we could do this’ means not lose. And we did.
Fucking Cedric.
Fucking skinny jeaned, no socked cocksucker.
Not that I am a coaching guru, but how much better do we look with only 2 out of PEH/JWP & Romeu in CM
Thats no way to talk about our Bazza, he has after all just retuned
Disappointing equaliser(s) but am determined to see the positives. Came home quite enthused
Saw them at Spurs a few weeks ago - they helpfully went down to ten men then gave us a goal. We still lost. Our build up even before the sending off was glacially slow. Passes went back or sideways. Three at the back, JWP at right wing back. We could have been playing until now and wouldn’t have scored
Today, a logical 4-4-2 (or 4-2-2-2). High energy from the start. We kept it up too. Even when they came back to 1-1 I still fancied us to win. Yes, we missed a load and obviously the defence still needs a leader - but we at least looked like a team. For the first time in ages I enjoyed a Saints game.
Play like that - we will not go down
Can only agree, and given that I was standing right next to you all game maybe that’s not so surprising. I thought it was more of a 4-3-3 though. The most encouraging thing about that performance was the number of good chances that we created - yes, we didn’t take them, but at least we made them. Contrast that with the home game against Bournemouth, where we absolutely battered them throughout the second half, but never really created all that much. To me that’s very encouraging.
As is PEH’s form. Most of this season he’s looked off the pace, and was pretty much a passenger in a few of the games I’ve seen. Today he looked like the player that he can be - a very welcome return to form. I’d agree with @Polski_Filip that having PEH, JWP and Romeu all in central midfield doesn’t work - as much as anything else, they get in each other’s way. Today, with PEH, JWP and Armstrong forming a very flexible midfield trio, we looked really good.
Good substitutions today - like-for-like rather than tactical, but made at good times and gave us extra impetus. Yoshida was ready to replace Bednarek just before Boufal came on, but Bedders turned out to be fit to carry on after all.
Above all, a brilliant game of football. I enjoyed it so much that I’m actually considering paying @SO5-4BW for my ticket. Best not go too crazy though. And good to see @Saint-CD, @SimplySaint and @Saint-or-sinner in the pub before the game.
Part of the team improvement can be confirmed by each of us mentioning different players as the positive influence we noticed and i’m happy to say that for the first time in a couple of years Bertrand was that player for me. Showed his true ability yesterday and that’s so important when there is no one to threaten his place.
Have to mention Ings as well. Really put a full shift in and a lovely finish.
We need that determination at home and we need the crowd to keep faith so we can have more enjoyment like yesterday.
I’d like people to consider that for the first time in a while we had professional and experienced left and right backs.
It’s an area we’ve been so out of balance in this season.
Once that got fixed everyone else can just do their job and yesterday everyone largely did their job well.
I think all the individual improvements people are seeing largely stem from simply being a balanced team with individuals in their correct and most natural positions.
Unfortunately our right back fucked up the easiest pass of the game to give Obafemi a tap in and got dragged towards a headed challenge he would never win, then was too slow to get out and stop the cross for their second goal.
True.
But the overall balance we had allowed everyone to focus on their shit.
Even Cedric was allowed to prove his occasional twatedness by getting that far forward - because everyone else was doing their job.
Why the fuck did he chip the pass?
Was he trying to put it on Obafemi’s head?
Also thought I would call out Obafemi’s pass to Ings for the penalty.
He really seems to be able to spot a pass and thread the needle.
I remember that pass he played, again to Ings, at Pompey.
There’s more to his game than pace.
True, but without his persistence the chance would never have arisen in the first place.
