What i saw in the bit i highlighted, was a typical exceptioalist attitude of “it’s our story. Fuck off with your truth”.
They don’t like real history and let’s be honest, it isn’t taught in our schools, so when confronted with it, it destroys the fraud of exceptionalism.
That’s a bitter pill to swallow for some(most).
How is it not a free speech issue?

(effectively) “You can’t say that, you’re white”
“That’s racist”
(Twitter woke twats) “You can’t say that to her. You’re white and she’s not”
I tell you what i would like to know. What did the Fox family do in the first world war? That would be enlightening.

People quite literally believe anything.
Civilised and culturally advanced, we ain’t, but the faithful will ignore all and any evidence. The goal of faith in the singular surmounts all(life of the unfaithful included).
My great uncle spent most of it in India…he had a great time so he told me. He was white and gay and liked them any colour.
Can I say that?
And irrelevant.
But he can and did say that. He has free speech. The point is that he can’t make that assertion with any sort of authority as his experience is that of a white (comfortable) male. There’s nothing wrong with being a white well off male. There is everything wrong with a white well off male asserting that people of a different colour or class should share his view of what our country is like. Their experience won’t be the same.
Well that is crap. Are we banning make-up discussions and dress chats as well?
