Lia Thomas - the person on the left, has been undergoing HRT over the last couple of years
She is 6ft 4, has huge hands and feet, a huge “wing span” (swimming term?) and greater lung capacity - all developed whilst growing through puberty as a male.
But a course of drugs that reduce testosterone is apparently grounds for her to be able to compete at elite womens sport
Some perspective Lia was not even in the top 500 men in the world but she beat a woman’s olympic silver medalist by 1.75 seconds in this race

Should have their own competition, this does nothing to further womens sport and participation.

US swimming updated its policy in February to allow transgender athletes to swim in elite events, alongside criteria that aims to reduce any unfair advantage.
Surely that tacitly acknowledges an unfair advantage, regardless of steps to try and counterbalance that advantage? I thought the official line was that transgender women should be allowed to compete because there is no difference between them and women who were born female.

The womens National Omnium Cycling champs at the weekend
There is a 21 yr trans athlete slated down to compete against a certain Laura Kenny who is a bit good at this discipline
Part of me wants this athlete to win, If the worlds best woman (biological) cyclists get beat by a relatively unknown trans athlete, who hasn’t done much in the mens division, then the inclusion argument is going to be much harder to make

BTW I didn’t click the like button above in support of an anti-trans agenda but in support of more clarity in women’s sport.

I’m not anti trans either - each to their own and all that
I have a massive problem with what’s going on in women’s sport - as if they haven’t had it hard enough to get recognition and a bit of money in it, all of a sudden this happens
Can you imagine the fuss if it turned out that trans women to men started cleaning up in men’s competition- I reckon there would be more done to protect the integrity of male sport

The comments from Seb Coe seem rather inarguable.

Isn’t that what certain trans activists have been arguing all along?

The British cycling Union test is flawed
They say the trans have to be under 5 nl of testosterone for 12 months when the average healthy female range is 0.7 to 2.8
If testosterone was the only factor then trans get a minimum of twice the advantage over a biological woman

This is " dangerous " ground.
I like sport.
I do not like un even playing fields.
IF I could afford subscriptions I would not pay to watch sports where natural born Women are at a disadvantage.
I WOULD pay to watch trans specific events.
The authorities risk alienating a majority to include a minority competing unfairly
It should not have come to this. DNA & Genes are a tricky business and I my kids, ex & my Mum now deceased spent a couple of amazingly enlightening evenings speaking with the post-OP wife of a German ex pat on the subject

There’s no point in women’s sport if people born men trump women.
