He must be back on the meds and has lost a few days or gained them which ever way you want to look at it.
Which makes me think that this blaming a “Polish spell checker” is a load of old bollocks.
You know you’re a Sotonian when you translate Phil instantly.
Not a holiday as such, but we stayed on in Wimborne after last night’s show as there’s another we want to see tonight at the same venue. So we’ve had some time this morning to look around the rather pleasant town and Minster.
Happened upon this inside, I was tempted to pull the thing in honour of our resident campanologist, @Shroppie …
… you’ll be relieved to hear that I refrained.
29cwt ring of 12. I’ve rung there - beautiful bells.
Anyway, off to Jordan tomorrow.
Give her our regards.
We need the “I looked over Jordan” photo
I’ve heard there’s a couple of big attractions but ultimately it’s bone dry and been ruined over the years.
We stayed in the Albion at Wimborne. Nice hotel, but got a bit annoyed by all the subliminal messages lurking in every corner.
Cruised the North end of the Red Sea today, passing, Saudi, Egypt, Israel and Jordan in a couple of hours. And snorkelled.
Should this not go in the alcoholics thread?
And it’s Ramadan to boot.
If anyone finds themselves in Taunton with a few hours to spare … i can highly recommend County Classics Musuem (right in town). Amazing collection of 70s, 80s and 90s cars. Took me right back down memory lane. Private collector with about 100 cars - all immaculate.

They even had a Ford Sierra XR4i … the very model that I was told to sell in order to pay for the wedding 34 years ago. They’ve also got one of the few AC Cobra Superblowers that was made at Brooklands under the Shelby licencing agreement for the European market. Value not declared but I think you’d need a 7 figure sum to buy it off the chap !
I’m glad to note that it doesn’t rankle after 34 years.
I was lucky I only had to flog a Vauxhall Cavalier to get the house deposit then ditched her before the wedding.
Since I left the house the Cavalier bought, I have been on holiday abroad.
