The queue at the tunnel - they still looked at that passport and spent 10 seconds stamping them - no discernible difference

Weâve got friends from Portugal just turned up today via rail via Spain and France.
No problems with trains in Europe until the train to the UK today. Hmmm, weird shit, huh?
Whatâs weird about that? Our trains have been utter shit since Iâve been alive, especially compared to the continent. 
I blame electrification. Things ran fine on steam.
