They are just protecting Klopp. It is being reported that VVD was flown to Blackpool in a private plane where he met Klopp in secret. Many messages exchanged between the two of them as well. This is in clear breech of the rules, as blatant as you could get. The PL must either inforce these rules or tear up the rulebook. If no further action is taken it will confirm what we all know anyway, the so called ‘big clubs’ are exempt, the rules don’t apply to them.
Please tell me you’re joking, because if you’re not, every club can now do the same, knowing that if they get caught they can just say sorry.
An example must be set(please PL it’s fucking Liverpool). So same punishment(at least) as their last transfer crime, a 2 year ban. Possibly 3, for being repeat offenders.
According to the BBC, Saints said that they would report Liverpool to the PL, so I would think that this apology and withdrawal of interest is intended to stop that from happening. Personally, I think we should report the fuckers anyway; as LitSL puts it, an apology is nowhere near adequate. If they want to be duplicitous cunts then they should expect the same in return. Presumably, the PL can’t make any move at all unless we do report Liverpool.
I imagine that all of this may be more likely to foreshadow VVD’s departure, however. If it’s true that he was that keen to join Liverpool, then he won’t be too happy that he can’t. The fact that he can’t is entirely down to the arrogance and stupidity of LFC of course, but I somehow doubt that VVD will see it that way.
As an aside, it looks like pap’s brother’s theory has been comprehensively blown out of the water. Not so well done after all, papbro. (Sorry pap - couldn’t resist!).
It is hilarious. What makes me laugh is that they are all blaming the suits upstairs for letting Klopp down! They really can’t bring themselves to admit that this is all down to Klopp. He was the one who met VVD secretly after having him flown to Blackpool. Klopp did the tapping up. They really are deluded or just thick. Probably a mixture of both.
Liverpool Football Club would like to put on record our regret over recent media speculation regarding Southampton Football Club and player transfers between the two clubs,” the statement read. “We apologise to the owner, board of directors and fans of Southampton for any misunderstanding regarding Virgil van Dijk. We respect Southampton’s position and can confirm we have ended any interest in the player.”
Southampton wonder how Liverpool could have dropped their interest in a player about whom they had never formally enquired – a clear admission, in their opinion, of the Merseyside club’s guilt in terms of the alleged illegal approach.
After all that’s gone on today, another quick read ofJack Schitt’s Twitter post from yesterday certainly gives a hint to the fact that something was about to go down…
I have a lot of notifications asking for info, and didn’t want to ignore anyone, but there is not much to say at present. There are some things happening behind the scenes that are about to reach conclusions either way over the next few days, the outcomes of which affect all aspects of the Club Operationally.
We are effectively at a crossroads as a Club. And decisions made over the coming days will shape the direction we take going forward. There is a brief moment of uncertainty about what that direction will be [from the options available] until these situations resolve, but everything else rests upon it. Once these matters reach their conclusions, then there will be much more that can be said, about what has happened internally during the last six months, players in/out, manager situation etc.
Until then, I was asked to wait for a green light before passing on any specifics from our recent talk [and was only given a few glimpses of the future myself]. Apologies, but hopefully soon, I will receive and be able to share more.
Perhaps he was alluding to the fact we were about to make a stand with regards transfers and wouldn’t be prepared to let the ‘bigger clubs’ walk all over us.
If we begin to keep our best players to stay, and add to them, then we would certainly be at a crossroads in our future. A future where we might be able to make the next step up to challenge with the so called bigger clubs.
At the very least it’s nice to see our club having some balls, even if those balls quickly shrink back inside when a big offer from Man City or Chelsea comes in…
