Pundits think the morning session may be a bit tough but then things should ease. Perhaps time to hide behind the sofa then
Jennings out for a duck in 3rd over
1/1
Bumrah to Jennings, OUT , oh, what has he done?! Jennings plays no stroke and is rapped plumb in front! Did he lose sight of it somehow? I think it only just pitched in line with leg stump, then shoot through at knee height and Jennings simply padded up! A complete brain freeze, and Jennings’ miserable series continues… Straightening off the pitch, hitting the top of middle stump, Bumrah strikes!
Sharma to Root, OUT , full and curving in late, hit on the pads again… and Dharmasena gives this one! Root reviews this time, but he doesn’t look hugely confident. For good reason: no bat involved, and that’s smacked the front pad bang in line with off stump! Ishant roars, Root’s out cheaply, and India have made two big breakthroughs! Lovely delivery, that, proving Ishant doesn’t just feast on lefties
Bairstow out with a faint, ball swinging out, previous one swung in.
Bumrah to Bairstow, OUT , got him! This is beautiful bowling from Bumrah. He makes it so hard when he gets the occasional one to straighten away from the right-hander - as he’s done here. His usual angle is so pronounced, into the batsman, that he almost always has to play at it, especially when it’s so close to his off stump. Not so much Bairstow did wrong, defending off the back foot and pretty close to his body, but all he manages is a tickle through to the keeper

Pandya to Cook, OUT , gone, Pandya strikes, and Cook is out in slightly uncharacteristic manner. Isn’t short enough to cut, and Cook follows the angle away from him and stabs at it. Ends up edging to third slip, where Kohli takes an excellent catch, falling to his left and catching it with both hands, low, by his toes
AN Cook c Kohli b Pandya 17 (55b 3x4 0x6) SR: 30.90
