2nd Test England V South Africa

72-4!! Doubt it @philippinesaint

cook gone now 72-4

Good old England with their ever-reliable batting collapse.

I guess, in part, you can blame the shorter format of the game, players are just so impatient these days, Weā€™ve had 6 sessions to bat to get the total but the players want to get it done in 2 by the look of it.

Either that or itā€™s good bowling by SAs something our vaunted bowling attack didnā€™t do.

Ali gone after having a succesful review overturn a caught behind, 2 balls later he dollies it to square leg.

126-7, Stokes c&b Philander

Itā€™s matter of when not if nowā€¦

The good thing about cricket is that itā€™s brilliant when itā€™s going well, but Iā€™d never lose sleep over a day like this!

Ditto the England football team - I donā€™t really care.

Supporting a club is very different.

Where is Ian Botham when you need him?

133-8 Broad gone, straight to the fielder on the Boundary.

Commentating, you can hear hime shaking his head in disapproval

All out for 133, beaten by 340 runs!!!

At least Dawson carried his batā€¦a heroic 5 not out.

Totally toilet batting. That is all.

Apart from Cook, who at least showed some awareness of what was required, the rest were just awful, absolutely clueless. There must be some changes for the Oval, Jennings, Balance, Dawson clearly not good enough at this level. I think they will go with the lad from Surrey to open with Cook, although i would like to see Daniel Bell-Drummond from Kent given a chance. Wood didnā€™t look right, his pace was well down and he didnā€™t threaten at all. Rashid must replace Dawson if they go with two spinners. And Root must quickly sort out a system with reviews, ridiculous letting Stokes and Broad immediately go for LBW reviews when the ball is clearly too high or going down the leg side. A waste, which could prove very costly when they are used up needlessly. Cook always gave Pryor the final word when he was captain, Root should do the same with Bairstow, the keeper is clearly in the best position to see where the ball pitched and whether it would have hit the stumps.
