And that’s that - 130 all out

Really comprehensive performance. I was slightly cursing Root for not declaring sooner, but sod it, we had them on toast.

When Broad goes on a charge, there’s very little better in sport.

If we had anyone who could bat overseas we’d be world-beaters.

Wakes & Curran to open in next test?
Batting not bowling

Maybe not that drastic, but I’d give Buttler the gloves and get Bairstow up the order.

More bowling than batting I think. Bowlers who pose little threat leave the batsmen with a massive, often insurmountable, task. That’s England’s problem overseas, where the ball refuses to swing. In those conditions you need proper pace, and that’s something that we lack.

Apart from in the sub continent when we need spinners who build pressure…

Indeed. I’d say you need both - proper fast bowlers to make some early inroads, then spinners to take over once the ball’s lost its shine (normally after very few overs in sub-continental conditions).

If we could outlaw the kookaburra ball, England would win all over the world, as is proper.

Read somewhere that is being considered.
Yep here it is

Issue is the Duke doesnt last on ā€œconcreteā€ pitches overseas

The kookaburra doesn’t really last on those pitches either. Not to the extent that there’s any seam left after 20 overs.

Ben Stokes found Not Gulity

May face Disrepute charge (ie a fine) from England.
