I saw this yesterday but assumed it had been doctored but given the sound track, both the BBCâs and the bloke and baby who posted this, then perhaps it actually happened.
There are many upsides to this policy. Working practices are changing and we all need to broaden our skills base to be the best candidates we can, in order to adapt to the longer time spent working and the multiple skill sets required. Tech advancements, automation, working multiple jobs and the rise in self employment will all be supported by this sort of policy.
The Tories could do without him in the marginals where they have a fair chance of winning, however there are some seats that would never vote Tory so that will just damage Labour
Last week Farage stated that Johnsonâs so called deal was a bad deal, worse than staying in the EU, and unless Johnson backed down and promised a no deal Brexit the Brexit Party would stand in all 600 plus constituencies. The day after he said this, Aaron Banks stated that he âprofoundly disagreedâ with Farageâs position regarding co-operation and an electoral pact with The Conservatives. The next day Farage made a complete about face, saying that he was willing to compromise with the Tories, which has resulted in todayâs announcement. He who pays the piper calls the tune.
As @Nottarf-Krap says, heâs been unequivocal about âJohnsonâs Treaty with Europeâ not being Brexit.
Heâs equated Johnsonâs deal with a car with a shiny bonnet that doesnât bear scrutiny when you look deeper.
Johnson has not changed the deal so Farage has capitulated which allows Labour to point out that heâs a Tory at heart standing aside for his Tory friends for a deal he doesnât believe in.
Commentators saying that phase I of Brexit party climb down isnât that significant. It doesnât help the Tories win Labour swing seats - in and of itself.
So, in anticipation of phase II, the next step surely has to be that Labour works with the Lib Dems to reciprocally stand aside to ensure we donât have another Tory majority.
Egos and personal dislikes will probably mean it wonât happen.
