For the record, I don’t actually believe May is as insensitive as she is coming across. I feel that she is just massively socially awkward. How she got as far as she did, I’ll never know.

Remember the very short Tory leadership campaign? I’m watching the runner up, Andrea Leadsom, on Sunday Politics right now. She’s still a politician, but the difference in warmth is like night and day.
People gave her a hard time for suggesting that her family ties would make her a better candidate for leadership than Theresa May. I bet some of the Tories that sank her are kicking themselves now. She’s actually a Tory people might like. She campaigned to Leave, unlike Theresa.
I always thought Leadsom had a point. I’m now starting to wonder if the media framed her as a weirdo to promote May’s unopposed coronation.

I was impressed by Leadsom’s visit to Grenfell Tower. Not only was she brave enough to stick her head over the parapet, but she actually looked like someone that gave a shit.
I don’t want to generalise on the state of only children, but I’ve always felt that May’s lack of immediate family concern would translate into a lack of wider concern. I actually underestimated her.
When you think of all that she is prepared to do in our name for her power, she’s actually a lot scarier than that.
