Dogs poop in alignment with Earth’s magnetic field.
Well I never knew that!
The study suggests that dogs are sensitive to small variations in Earth’s magnetic field. After examining 70 dogs — made up of 37 breeds — over two years, 1,893 defecations and 5,582 urinations, researchers found that under “calm magnetic field conditions,” dogs preferred to “excrete with the body being aligned along the north-south axis,” avoiding east-west altogether.

May be the study was conducted in a place with a northerly wind and the dogs pointed that way so they didn’t have to smell their own shit

I’ve never noticed that bothering them. Let’s face it, they spend half their time sniffing around it.

and even eating it
and people let dogs lick their faces (after they’ve licked their faeces)

Don’t knock it if you’ve not tried it.

Anyway dogs don’t lick their faeces
they lick their bollocks but once their waste has been expelled they lose interest in it.

Horse apples are an entirely different thing though. :lou_lol:

And cow’s shit, they love rolling in that. I’ve had a couple of dogs that ate cats shit though, my whippet used to watch the cat take a dump and bury it, then go straight over there and dig it up. Of course if i caught him trying it he got his arse kicked, which was a waste of time really because as soon as i disappeared he would hone in on it and get stuck in. Didn’t seem to do him any harm, fuck knows what it tasted like though!

Well our lass is quite restrained in all that
she just likes muddy water.

This was the cleanest she got today

She’s obviously being brought up properly, none of those nasty council estate habits for her!

Good lord no.

Lady Slowlane and I were both products of NHS and a Council Estate early life but used a squalid start as a springboard to a refined and cultured pedigree. We like our dogs to aspire to the same.
