Fatso jogged my memory the other day on the musical chain thread with his mention of Ronnie Bond. I first heard this in 1970 on a bootleg cassette, a mate had a copy and ran one off for me. Forgotten all about it. The wonders of the internet.
Back in 1969 The Troggs were in the studio recording the single ‘Tranquility’. What started as an artistic difference of opinion turned into a full blown row between Reg Presley and Ronnie Bond when Ronnie couldn’t get a drum piece right. Thankfully the sound engineer had the presence of mind to record it.One of the funniest eleven minutes i’ve ever heard, apparently the inspiration for a lot of Spinal Tap. The broad Hampshire accents just make it funnier for some reason. The legendary Troggs Tape.
