This I can relate to.
HR organised a team building exercise for all the offshore crew and the KL office. Originally all the ex pats were invited they then found out how much our flights and accomodation would be. We were univited. The local Malaysians were then told it was compulsory to attend even if it was during leave periods and would have to cover for offshore crew if the rotas fell the wrong way. They were not happy. Then they were told you cannot bring partners to the hotel as you are double bunking. Even more discontent.
Team building did not go well
