Worth seeing if you get the chance. He works up quite a sweat with all that anger.

Chemical Brothers + St Vincent. Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

yes

Also this. Took a while for them to click with me, now I can’t get enough.

(Yes I’m in pre-Glasto excitement phase)

I really wanted to not like this album what with them being flavour of last year and sounding like MOR 80s rubbish.

It’s plainly beautiful though.

Was listening to The Libertines again the other day and checked out Pete and Carl’s most recent solo stuff and was happily surprised. Obviously not going to convert the people who think they’re both tossers, but both albums make me excited for the third Libs album if it eventually appears

The third Babyshambles album ‘Sequel to the prequel’ (released in 2013) is an unexpected summery delight. Highlights are this track ‘Fall from Grace’, ‘Minefield’ and ‘Dr No’.

Edit: (maybe listen without watching the photogenic slideshow of everyone’s favourite junkie
)

Carl Barat’s album with his band the Jackals from the beginning of this year was also great, in a rowdy, britpop pirate kind of way. A guilty pleasure, but a good one. Album highlights are ‘Glory Days’, the fantastically named ‘Victory Gin’ and this one, ‘March of the Idle’.

Sometimes you have to do the nostalgia bit
when you’re of my vintage you have to go back a little further than most here
