Heavily influenced by the Butthole Surfers early work, IMO.
This, from the beautifully spoonerised album Hairway to Steven.
Talk Talk bassist Paul Webb, seems to be on a roll with 2 solo albums in a year after 16 years of silence.
Collaborated with Beth Gibbons in 2003 to make a stunning album āOut of Seasonā and thenā¦
His delivery is very Bowie circa 2013 āWhere are We Nowā which I find very affectingā¦
James Bond the third? Fuck off!!
That little boy grew up to be Sir Roger Moore so show some fucking respect.
Must have had the same skin condition as Michael Jackson
I know, people crying out for Idris Elba to be the first black James Bond and there was Sir Roger Moore right under our noses the whole time.
Iām doing iPod shuffle again. Thousands and thousands of songs to choose from and in the last hour Iāve had both Maxwellās Silver Hammer and Octopuses Garden. Fuck off Apple!
Iāve got really in to buying tapes over the last year or so; mainly stuff off bandcamp that sounds like 80s soundtracks.
If youāre a massive hipster like me, check out the spun out of control label and bands like dream division.
Ooh, I got that Ufology album by Grey Frequency. I see theyāve got stuff on Spun Out of Control. I will delve deeper.
As an (ageing) hipster, I canāt see the attraction of the rebirth of cassette tapes. Surely they were unreliable and a bit bollocks and we were all glad to see the back of them? Or is that the ironic point?
Itās a nice kind of throw back to the diy scene I suppose. I mainly get them as they are mostly a quid or two more expensive than the download and it helps support the artist a bit more. I still like something tangible too.
Some of the stuff the major labels are re-releasing on cassette is a total waste of time though.
I can definitely see the appeal of a hold-in-your-hand product. Unfortunately lack of space means Iām strictly download only these days.
On topic, Iāve been enjoying these this morning:
Thanks for this. Iād heard about them, but not heard them.
Really enjoyed that.
Iāve been getting a bit drunk tonight and trawling through this thread from the beginning (it didnāt start off great, far too much chit chat) and here are some of my highlights that I probably would never have heard of but for other sotonians (Iāve named names but not because I want them to wank me off on twitter or anything, just a general show of appreciation)
