Loved De La Soul as a teen. I remember being on some activity week with a lot of lads and one of them introduced me to them. I had 3 feet high and rising on repeat for that summer. I saw them on the Common the other year at Common People and it was pretty cool to see this group where I’d probably listened to them on my walkman.

Early 70’s, this was kind of revolutionary. And brilliant, the rhythm and beat drives it. James Brown was a dick also, fined his backing band if they missed a note

I was lucky enough to see James Brown play for a small audience of 500 at a company do a few years ago. He did 5 numbers and walked off with a big check (sic). He was still fucking good.

Wow, I saw him at Daytona Beach, in Florida. In the late 90’s, still the best live performance i’ve seen.

I’m estimating Epcot Centre in…2000 ish. And he was the Godfather still.

My sister worked at Disneyworld, and the Epcot centre. I remember, Wang Chung were the headline act.
