:trumpdumb: Trumped!

He’s a right wing author and you have chosen to read him.

Trump may be finally realising that he’s not overturning the election, which will be massive to him as he even convinced himself with his lies. I’m sure it was a carefully-prepared advance tactic to make his mob believe he could only lose if it was rigged. That was repeated relentlessly before the election and then seized on and made the core of his futile legal battle once he lost. Millions really believe he won, which will taint Biden’s presidency.

For the Dems, all they can do now is get on with governing, hope things get better with Trump largely silenced and keep hammering home all the bad things Trump has left.

The GOP have a massive split. On one side, they see Trump as hugely successful and influential and fear the consequences of turning on him. There is also fear of personal danger if they don’t carry on worshipping him. But now he’s been impeached, if he could be found guilty and subsequently debarred, the more sane elements of the GOP could start the process of dumping him and returning to normality. Always with the danger that one of his acolytes (or family, if they’re not all in jail) could repeat his performance in four years.

I think they’re slowly leaning towards ridding themselves of him, but are still very worried about his mass cult following, who they need.

There are many right wing authors, its immature both intellectually and politically to deny yourself enjoyment as you disagree with the writers beliefs.

In fact thats fucking inbred, backward, closeminded and downright stupid.

Roald Dahl anyone?

Why bother to read anything by someone who can’t even spell his own name correctly?

I really don’t know what Goatboy was trying to prove there, his echo chamber or his wilful ignorance, maybe both.

You not taking the meds again Barry? Will now be giving this thread a swerve as well today. Can you not just discuss rather than provoke / troll all the time?

And meanwhile Trump is clearly now in a flat spin. His rhetoric of fight, fight, fight logically means to him another huge insurrection at the induction. But many of his staff have left or are now telling him he has to stop. which he finds nearly impossible, as he doesn’t know how to lose: you keep bullying, threatening and cheating until you win by any means. He really thought that would happen. The message he put out last night warning against further violence clearly was forced on him, but he did it as he’s finally realising another riot might just swing the Senate to find him guilty and bar him. His hope now is to focus on four years of disruption and misinformation to keep his mob happy, and to stand again in 2024 and that could be vanishing.

But according to reports, he’s far more worried about legal and financial developments. His golf course has lost a major tournament. He’s lost all his franchises in NYC and his Turnberry course has been blacklisted from future competitions. Dozens of major donors to the GOP have withdrawn (that will make the party think hard). Deutsche Bank have dropped him and he owes them hundreds of millions. He’s facing twenty sexual assault charges, plus those of tax evasion and other financial irregularities. Most of his family are embroiled in in too. He’s being sued all over the place (for example by Dominion (with others) for defaming their good name with false claims - $1.3 billion!)

And he’s lost his beloved Twitter and every other platform he used to spread his lies.

He could easily soon be debarred, bankrupt, divorced and in prison. We can only hope.

I’d go above and think you’ll find I was incorrectly provoked, stop playing the poster and read the posts, I didn’t start anything and Goatboy simply showed himself up, as far as I am concerned the matter is over.

Twitter has lost an awful lot more than a terrible person and a tweeter, its lost an awful lot more than that.

Yes. Certainly losing a lot of users and taking a financial hit, but I commend them for doing the right thing. You can’t condone being a hub for blatant lies and incitement for an individual with millions of unquestioning followers.

Not that I expect you to agree, Baz. :grinning:

I can’t agree, no matter no distasteful a man he is, he’ll find a place to vent hatred, it’ll be where he isn’t challenged now, his followers will spout for him.

Its a backward move.

His followers might continue to spout, but they will not have the clout or reach of Potus

A random shouty man on a social platform is more readily dismissed as a whack job

He’ll find his way on to Parler no doubt, or probably already has.

Not if its Trumps children who he’s speaking through, you expect someone like Trump to back down and walk away, he is a child, he won’t, he won’t until he’s beaten and the only way that will happen is through debate, censure actually strengthens him and allows him to say its a them and us argument.

The left, centrists and anyone who thinks this is a genuinely positive thing really need to think again.

The ad revenue alone, these places will welcome such users, its naive to think otherwise, reasoned debate is the only way to get through to him or his electorate.

This would work with most normal people but Trump is such a deluded narcissist that this is very unlikely to happen.

Exactly, you put him in public eye and make a fool of him via debate and discussion, not censure him and give him a platform of supposed martyrdom in an echo chamber.

He has just been thoroughly defeated. How has he taken that?

You actually believe that Trump or his followers are capable of reasoned debate?

Sadly, yet another thread I cannot look at. It has got to the stage that when I see a certain name on the thread, I shut down and move on
