A lot of people have us down as a ‘steadily improving club’ yet it does look like we’re going to finish below where we did for the last three seasons.
On top of that, earlier this season we had rock solid defence and just couldn’t score - now all of a sudden goals are flying in at both ends.
And then there’s the fact that we went on an awful run of 6 losses in 7 Premier League matches, yet amid all that, beat Liverpool home and away in the cup without conceding a goal in over 3 hours football.
We are pretty unpredictable to be fair - although I suppose ‘a strange team’ is a bit of an unflattering way of putting it.
I’m going for a 1-1 scoreline in this game, will be difficult to get anything from spurs as (through gritted teeth) they have been impressive this season. Think Gabba will give their defence alot to think about, and our midfield seem to have found their shooting boots as well, and the settled line up seems to producing more goals… actually fuck it, 2-0 Saints.
The day lawrenson predicts a liverpool defeat in his weekly ‘predictions’ is the day I’ll start giving his words any kind of attention. Rather than give any opinion as to why our fortunes have been in fairness, a bit all over the place, he just predicts another loss. I have no time for him. And it will annoy me no end if his prediction is right. Was the same with merson on the sky website, but at least he didn’t wind me up as much. Maybe I’m taking it too personally. Maybe I’ve had too much guiness. Who knows?
We will struggle in midfield against Wanyama, Dembele, Delly Alley, Eriksen etc.
Hopeful of a 1-1 but we will have to play bloody well.
If all of Lawros and Mersons predictions came true Saints would be rock bottom and Liverpool and Arsenal would be 1 and 2 in no particular order with the rest miles behind.

If you go to the bottom of the page with Lawro’s predictions on it there is a table with the positions had his predictions come corect.
Unsurprisingly Liverpool are top without losing, and he ha spredicted a draw with City this week.
Southampton are fourth from bottom having won 4 games and lost 16 all season.
Hull are dead bottom without having won once!!
