Anyway, one thing that has struck me is hypocrisy of right-wing conservatives who hounded Obama (and continue to peddle the myth) over allegations that he was born in Kenya. Yet, seem totally happy to hand waive away the fact Ted Cruz actually was born in Canada.

Trump is saying things to get elected, whether he believes them or not is immaterial, its the power he wants and heāll say anything what is populist hence his standing in America, he is only a mirror of part of the electorate, its plainly obvious that is the case, the problem is America and its citizens, Trump is a reflection of that.
The vast majority politicians are like this and if they are not they are still ruthless albeit in a more principled manner, most politicians are only concerned with their majority otherwise they have no influence unless they are one of the very very few go on select committees, a lonely game and a hard one even to get on the ladder unless you have a lot of money.
My bettings is Trump is not as half as right wing as he makes out, in any case do you honesly think the house will let him do it?
Classic scaremongering without any basis whatsoever, I remember what Obama said he would do, he was shut down completely, his gun laws are only being pushed through now as he is leaving, commendable as it is he couldnāt do it before and even now he is ignoring process, the states like anywhere else are controlled by madarins, lobbyists, large corps and civil servants.

They tried to ban communists (pretty unpopular as well), it was a political statement the same as McCarthism, reds in the bed etc etc, you cant stop a Muslim as what is a Mulsim, its everyone and anybody, a political ideal but not achievavble, and could never work as they would lose so much business and Trump is first and foremost a businessman.
