So, Clasie aside, Saints have still got every single surplus/‘unwanted’ player hanging around. In some cases like a bad smell.
I’m talking Carrillo, Lemina, Austin, one of Forster or McCarthy, Hoedt and Cedric. Then to a lesser extent we don’t really know the thinking towards Boufal, Reed and Elyounoussi.
When you write them down you can appreciate the full extent of the issue and understand the need to ship out before we can bring new blood in.
There is the added complication of the European window being open longer so we may not be able to get rid of some of those named above, until after our window closes. Meaning no opportunity to reinvest in this window.
I’m pretty happy about our attacking options but like many, still have concerns at the back.
So who here wants to predict what will happen in the next few days… will it be an eventful run up to deadline day or something of a damp squib?
Think we will see a bunch of loans with deals to pay part of salaries.

Not convinced by Stephens and I don’t really see Reed forcing his way in to the plans so maybe he will go. He apparently has suitors in the championship and lower echelons of the prem so he could be one to go on Thursday.
Maybe Liverpool will come for McCarthy but it sounds like Adrián on a free is more appealing to them.
