Springsteen famously did not serve in Vietnam. He failed his military medical, and has made comments that suggest he knew how to fail his medical.
Muhammed Ali went to jail. Used his profile to speak out. I prefer that.

Hmm. Not sure he wrote the original of that y’know.
We actually had the 45 single.
It read “I’m a winker” (misprint).
Which is why I’ve always been fond of calling Winchester people “winkers”
Mr Docherty just put it together, didn’t write the ditty. The original was written and performed by the legendary Ivor Biggun and The Red Nosed Burglars.
