Well in both qualification and group stages (over many years), we have always seemed to have had things in our favour, even when we have not taken advantage of it… I suspect this has been a disadvantage as the media get hyped up when we beat average sides or beat better sides when it does not matter and get carried away. England’s biggest challenge is that we have created players who believe there own hype because of the money they are paid in the Premier league… and have stupid barnets

I think what @CB-Saint means is we’re as good as anything we’ve seen at this WC so far. Several of the fancied teams have stuttered in the early stages as have we. By that token we go into the next round with as good a chance as anyone.
