Well when they say something I want it believable not laughable.
You chose not to believe anything anyway, so what difference does it make? How is the asset stripping going?
Even fucking Brighton have signed a new striker. What the fuck is up with us. Come ooooooon and sign someone Les.
Ageed @saint-cd
According to the BBC “…The Premier League side have reportedly paid a fee of about £14m for the 24-year-old Dutchman, who has scored nine goals in 15 games for PSV this season…”
We need someone who can do that - or better to stay up.
Though will this guy be able to translate his record into the Premier league for Brighton? Not convinced personally.
All go at St Marys…
SOG is, of course, bang on the money here. The only person who ever mentioned the Champions League as a realistic goal for us was Cortese. Since he left, four years ago now, nobody has made any such suggestion. Did you believe Cortese on that? Precous few people did.
About a year ago Les Reed did an interview in which he laid out the club’s stance. He said that, while we can’t compete with the mega-clubs, we will aim to be at the top of the group of clubs below that bunch. Put another way, that would mean finishing in a position that would put us into the Europa League as often as not. Do you consider that believeable or achievable? I would. We’ve done it already, but not this season or last.
So, as SOG and others have asked you repeatedly, what do you want the club to say? And, before you type out your inevitable response that we’re nowhere near the top of the chasing pack, just bear in mind how massively irrelevant and redundant a reply that would be.
That means coming 6th every year unless we rely on other results? Surely that is not scientific? We’re not near what West Ham have, Leicester have done, Everton will be getting so quite frankly its absolute bollocks and only a stupid person would even entertain it.
So, unless you are a stupid person, what do you expect?
As is so often the case, your answer means nothing. Who claimed there was anything scientific in this? What do West Ham have that we are nowhere near? What are you saying is absolute bollocks? And, just for once, would you like to answer a question with something other than another question?
I’ll give you a starter: do you think it reasonable that Southampton should aim to be at the top of the teams behind the mega-clubs? A yes or a no will suffice, but some cogent and coherent argument to back up your answer would be much appreciated.
Upvote for accidental downvote.
I think its reasonable but the club obviously don’t, West Ham have a souless huge stadium but that will get better but if not its simply a larger one of ours with moderately better transport links, Leicester have won the Premiership, Everton have a lot more history and when they get their new stadium they’ll be light years ahead, Newcastle, Leeds when they get back up, Villa and quite a few more.
Its dillusional and the only way we’re do it is with money, its as simple as that, not academy players as without money we won’t retain them, this isn’t rocket science.
If we don’t spend the money we aren’t going anywhere other than backwards.
Are we spending the money?
Who’ll genuinely want to come here when we’re this shit and with the manager we have?
They’re full of shit, nothing more than snakeoil salesmen.
To Ofles OfKat and all the other handmaidens of the board it looks like this transfer business is easy enough for Les to give him time to do more public speaking on how great he is.
I’ll give the clueless twat some choice words for his speeches in front of clappers.
Get a room you two.
Yawn.
Ah, I get it now.
Ofbollocks.
While everyone has been biting at the bitching.
Seems the press now have their teeth firmly sunk into Led Reed & his Son.
Someone is possibly leaking details and it is not looking good.
Any links?
