šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³ The Chinese Are Coming

I wouldn’t think we need a lot of investment really. I mean, if they want to lob in the odd Ā£10m here or there so we can take more chances in the transfer market, i.e. buy in replacement players before we actually sell bros, than I won’t be Complaining.

Edit: Oh, and they can buy MLG a new stadium too pls. I think he Deserves It.

Anyone got the Google Analytics on searches for ā€œJisheng Gao net worthā€? Reckon a spike is coming…

It was the fourth Google suggestion when I googled his name just now to confirm he was the bloke from Lander sports.

Chaps, chaps, disabuse yourself of the mega-money notion.

He spent Ā£210m to buy an 80% shareholding in the club. Don’t know what his net worth is but China are incredibly reluctant to let money leave their country now.

The answer is anything between £2bn and fuck all

Anyway, more importantly, is Nelly fit?

Net worth > $2 billion.

Obtained cash to buy club from outside China

Sources worried may lump debt onto club & Kat & Ralph met Americans 2 weeks ago they continued to delay

But otherwise welcome.

I hope

Jesting aside, welcome to Mr Gao and Mrs Gao.

Respect our legacy, continue taking us forward and we’ll get on just fine. :innocent:

In M&A logic now we know why the club refused to sell any ā€œassetsā€ which could have affected the valuation

Equally we could now sell 5 or 6 players & Gao gets his money back

Cynical old bastard! I agree with you though…

I’ll reserve judgement on this. Given that most of the Chinese investment in English football to date has been by cowboys with no fucking clue about the business (Trillion Trophy Asia being the prime example) I’m not all that optimistic. This feels like we are just a place to park some of his money so that’s it out of the reach of Xi Jinping’s boys when Gao inevitably pisses off the wrong person in the Chinese political system and has his assetts seized. Also, don’t kid yourself this guy is worth billions, he’s a real estate developer, which means most of his wealth will be tied up in property in China, and I 'd wager he owes a fair slice of that value to the banks. He’s definitely not on the same level as Wang Jianlin (owner of Atletico Madrid) in the entrepreneur stakes.

Bit disappointed that most people on Fiver Mountain are taking it quite well… with the notable exception of the usual suspects.
