Correct, they believed the toxic debt being sold could be maintained by rising house prices.
It is one of my favourite movies, the only one made in the last fifteen or so years that has had a lot of rewatches.

Great performances all round (not so much Brad Pitt), not a huge fan of Steve Carrell but he’s very good in this

I think it’s my favourite Ryan Gosling performance. Quite understated in some of his previous roles, so this was a nice change of pace.
I think I liked him in ‘the nice guys’, I don’t remember much about it, I may have watched it drunk. Think it’s on film 4 next week so I’ll have to rewatch it and try to stay sober.
Won’t affect me then. 
He’s tremendous in this, a great film.
I thought he was great in Blade Runner, great film again.
