I’m finding it a little tough to get my head around this one to be honest. A 21 year old centre back… Stephens is a novice and he’s 23. So is he one for the future that we’ll loan out or play in the under 23s? Or first team challenger? With Stephens and Yoshida as the only other guaranteed to be there (probably) centre backs? (Gardos doesn’t count I’m afraid.)
Obviously I know we sign some absolute under the radar randoms who come good but this seems a stretch even for Saints.
Dont get me wrong, I trust the black box etc but just find this one a bit bizarre. Maybe he’ll make Virgil look like Dejan by October.

Sadly there is still a big difference between a player not being for sale and “we will not be selling this player, under any circumstances.”
My house isn’t for sale but if somebody offered me 70 million reasons why I should sell it then chances are I would.
Until he or Ralph (Ralph usually likes to get the credit with such assertions) comes out and puts their neck on the line then I will have my doubts. Regardless of making a ‘promise’ or whatever to the new manager, I’m pretty sure the new man would get over it if he had £70 - £80 million to spend in the transfer market.
Oh well. No point being on the rollercoaster unless you enjoy the ride!

Yes as as an ITK I can confirm that…you are too cynical.
A cynic would say the Chinese have gone very quiet.
A businessman would wonder whether it would be best to retain assets to offer potential or have cash in the bank to inspire hedge fund asset stripping.
