Just getting into the reboot of “Quantum Leap” and am quite enjoying it.

Didn’t realise the original was early 1990s, thought it was much earlier than that.

Had a lot of fandom pushing for it.
I tried S1 but got stuck and gave up

Vigil.

Cops on a Sub

That’s sold it

Anything else would be spoilers!
It is on IPlayer I guess S2 just dropped that isn’t on a Sub.
S1 is claustrophobic and (no spoilers) gets big in a confined space very well across 6 episodes
It’s a dense, sharply written (by Tom Edge), absolute treat of a show about a murky, unseen world that doesn’t want to break the surface and show itself, and one that viewers will surely want to dive into. A relentless conspiracy drama bursting with performers who know how to keep their cards close to their chests.

Is BBC Vigil any good?

Vigil has much to say about the secret, lucrative business that drives our foreign policy, about how self-interest decides which foreign actors are allies and which are terrorists, and about the sinister future of automated warfare. But, mainly, it is just a good crime thriller.

I havent heard of a lot of these shows.
Night Agent was good. The Mother wasntvshit but the others?

For those who know…

I’ve just watched this, it’s OK as far as it goes but doesn’t really add anything to what is already known. It did touch on the reams of files Nixon and Kissinger had on Lennon, files which showed that Lennon was indeed considered a real threat by the US state, with Nixon pushing to have him ‘dealt with’. But, like the killing of both Kennedys, Luther King etc, the official explanation is that it was a crazed lone gunman with mental health problems.

For a more in depth investigation into Lennons assassination I recommend the book ‘Who Killed John Lennon?’ by Fenton Bresler. It was written in the 1980s so I’m not sure if it will still be in print. I picked up a dog eared copy in a charity shop a few years ago.
Fenton Bresler was an English barrister, with a criminal and civil legal practice who was also a legal journalist, he was the legal correspondent for, I think The Sunday Times, and a sometimes TV pundit. Bresler spent six years of extensive research into the background and motive of Mark Chapman and the circumstances of the murder. He is probably the only one to extensively research the murder, asking pertinent questions because there was little if any investigation by the New York authorities, an open and shut case as far as they, and the FBI were concerned, a lone nut. Bresler uncovers some profound similarities between Chapman and Sirhan Sirhan, that point to Operation Artichoke and MK/ULTRA. He contends that Chapman was part of a political plot, and makes a very persuasive case. But I’m sure we will never really know the truth, and the majority of the American public of that era refuse to even contemplate that their government would do such a thing! Let’s face it, most of them still believe that Russian Commies killed JFK and his brother. I do remember Paul McCartney in an unguarded moment many years ago telling an interviewer that the official crazed fan lone gunman scenario was bullshit, and he was convinced that it was a state sanctioned hit.

They are turning out a lot of good stuff - notice d that the “cinematography” is more Murican in most things, even in UK based programmes, which puts it above the rest.

I’ve now interested Mrs C_S enough in watching For All Mankind that we’re keeping Crapple after we finish Slow Horses (a day behind @lifeintheslowlane every week)…She didn’t take to Ted Lasso :scream:

Never pegged Ed as a Teamster
