As it’s the Olympics I just watched Prime Japan - Ramen (ep 3) on …Prime.
Really terrible format, out of context background music, cheesy English language bookending and a How Do They Do That middle section, all in Japanese with subtitles. It shouldn’t work at all, but I now know more about Ramen than anyone ever should.
I should hate it but it’s addictive
Am now going to watch ep 5 “Made In Japan” which apparently includes a bit on warm water cleansing toilet seats… wish me luck.
I also now know more than I should about the Japanese mind concerning the pleasure to be gained by the various forces and angles when warm water cleansing…optimum temperature is apparently 38c
Netflix 2016 The Magnificent Seven remake.
Everything screams NOOOOO!
A film/story that cant be beat.
But they Denzel it.
Denzel plays Denzel, Chris Pratt plays Starlord and it works.
It isn’t a touch on the original but actually…
It’s a danged good Western perfect for boys Curry night in. Entertaining we enjoyed it
Taken:17 Cold Pursuit.
Still stuck in the snow after Taken:16 Ice Road Liam, reprises his only character and falls into an actual quirky and mildly amusing version of the same story.
Enjoyable as ever with a couple of amusing moments as Liam takes Taken to an attempt at Brian Rix levels of farce.
The Indians checking into a hotel moment was almost comedy.
Do you have a reservation?
With limited internet and the lesson from the neighbours having their TV & Computer blown up by the lightning last week we have a new possibility for a show.
If I had band width I’d stream it.
Mossies committing suicide.
Strangely compelling
Finally got round to watching this and I wish I watched it sooner, loved every minute of it, some excellent voice talent (Nic Cage was a surprise and Liev Schreiber was great as Kingpin) and I’d go along with it being the best Spiderman film, and best Spiderman animation (even better than Spiderman and his amazing friends*, I had a huge thing for firestar when I was a kid) it’s fucking awesome.
If you want to get away from all the CGI shenanigans ‘No Sudden Move’ is worth a look, a set in the 50’s crime story with a strong cast (Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Toro take top billing), directed by Steven Soderbergh and apparently shot all on an iphone! On HBO Max and also some err… less reputable streaming platforms… * cough *
