We’ve done OK in both boxes. Defensively we’ve been really pretty good aside from the goal and even on the rare occasions we’ve got forward we’ve certainly looked threatening.
The issue is just everything in between. There’s a real gulf between Redmond, Hojbjerg, JWP and Davis against De Bruyne, Toure, Silva and Sané.
We’re far too conservative, slow and predictable, we have a team and squad that capable of better performance and entertainment, the manager tactics aren’t for this League.
That may be so but you don’t make it easy for them, the way we conceded the goals we did, we weren’t energised enough and looked like a 40 point team, thats not good enough.
Sorry Barry but thats rubbish … we didn’t perform today because City stopped us playing our natural game from the off, as they should considering how much they cost. Once they had control of the midfield they pushed on and dominated. There was little we could do about it, quality prevailed today, simples
Might have been different if Tadic had a bit more composure for his shot in the first half but pray tell, what Puel could have done about that.
Another team can stop you playing but they can’t stop you having desire and energy.
They also don’t control in the style you choose to play, slow passing doesn’t work against a quality team as they’ll let you have it in areas that can’t hurt them, as proved today, where was the change? Where was plan B?
But Barry, we’re not a slow passing team by nature, haven’t been for ages ???
Plan B ? what hoof it up the field BFS style … you think that would of worked ?
Now, if we had kidnapped De Bruynne or Sane or Aguero at half time and sent them out in red and white, that might of worked … unfortunately it’s illegal
the problem is that bob is one of our prospective soviet members and if he can’t bring himself to blindly follow Saints and give ridiculously optimistic predictions for every game, then I don’t think he should be elected.
Gav, pull your finger out mate. It’s Chelsea up on Tuesday and we need everyone to put in a performance … and damn you Bob for your questionable reverse luck theory !!
Gabbiadini got behind them many times and we didn’t use that option, that lad ran his bollocks off today and he didn’t get a sniff, the players weren’t on the same script as him, he’ll be thinking why the fuck did he run and make all that effort if no one had the inclination to use that tactic.
