Just back. Would have posted sooner but have been fucking hanging all day (thanks @goatboy ) and had just one mission. Get back home at some point tonight.

Fucking awful performance from Saints. I complained a few games ago about no consistent Puel style emerging, but I think I’m wrong. The team are as fucking boring as he is right now, and I reckon the only reason we can still look good on our ever diminishing days is that the players probably haven’t forgotten all they learned under Koeman and Poch, in much the same way that post-Moyes Everton could still defend for a season after taking on leaky Martinez.

Martinez did not sort that Everton defence out and I don’t think Puel is taking us forward. I know that we got to a Cup Final and were robbed on the day, but even on that run there were some fucking stinkers of games rescued by one piece of brilliance. Furthermore, we look shit on the basics, such as concentration. How many fucking goals have we shipped in the last minute of the first half this year?

To be fair to Puel, the injuries hit hard this year and I don’t think he has been helped by Fonte, the board or the combination of the two. It could be much worse, but it could have been also be a shitload better. Zero away games won in Europe. Rolling over for near every fucking big boy in the league, even if we troubled some in the cups.

Puel’s style seems contradictory to me. It looks like he wants fast attacking options, get the ball up the pitch quickly, but 90% of all our moves seem to end in our attackers waiting for our opponents to get in place before engaging in some attractive but mostly pointless dickery somewhere near the corner flag.

I am not convinced. Puel out. (There, I said it)

So, Pap, apart from what you just said, what have the Romans ever done for us…

G’nite…

Looked up league games only.

3 just before half time; Against WBA (H), West Ham (H) and Chelsea (A).

5 against us after 85 mins (not that you asked but I’m awake/bored and I like stats :lou_wink_2:) Spurs 2 (H), Palace (A), Everton (A) and Watford (A).

Stats on our side (again not asked for but I’m in full on stat mode now);

We have scored 3 just before half time (43 mins and over), and 8 goals after 85 mins in the league this season.

Oops I seem to have repressed that shit peno Arsenal got against us in the 94th at theirs :lou_facepalm_2:

Interesting stat on the bbc website;

ā€˜ā€˜The Black Cats have spent 1,282 days of their Premier League existence in the bottom three, the most of any club - Southampton are next on 1,184.’’

stats and stuff

I like the Martinez comparision . He is/was a reasonably good/OK manager. Its probably the same with Puel.

But if you compare Martinez with Koeman at Everton then Everton have progressed. The same with Nice. Puel did OK but this season with a new manager they have progressed.

If Southampton want to progress we need to change the manager. If we want to stablise then keep him
