King hell

There is the difference, Newcastle didn’t deserve anything from our game with them but came away with all 3 points because they took their one good (served up) chance. We are miles apart from our current opponents.

On the positive side we’re now 3rd from bottom.

Our relentless climb up the table starts here… :joy:

RM was making such a song and dance about getting Aribo on that it didn’t surprise me in the slightest when he was the unfortunate provider of their deflection for the equaliser. I’m not saying it was his fault, just that it didn’t seem surprising somehow.

Shame he took Fernandes off. He was the pulse for our play and tied up their midfield. Soon as he goes off the space is there for their goalscorer to pick his spot. It was still a smart strike, but keeping Fernandes on would have given a better chance for the 3 points.
Thought Lallana, Downes and Fernandes were excellent. That needs to be the midfield trio, even though AL wont go the full 90. Team selection wasnt bad today. Stewart for Archer and that would be my starting 11 for Bournemouth.

Not at all convinced by Stewart. Another forward with no pace.

On the plus side, winless Pompey conceded in the 94th minute to lose 2-1 to Burnley.

I don’t think we purchased him for his pace. He was highly rated as a striker in The Championship when we signed him, although damaged.

It must be like waking up in another universe when he comes on in the PL.

Archer running into space ball bouncing off him
Stewart holding the ball up for nobody around him and scoring rebounds/lose balls in the box.

And totally not gonna happen
