:southampton: 🖼 Southampton - Past in pictures - places & people

Any ideas on this one, anyone?

I have just looked back through this thread and think it is pretty good, even if I do say so myself. It could do with a little more diciption, even though most of them are pretty obvious, but others I have no idea.

Only have around 50 more to post!

Had to do a bit of a search for these. The photos were taken early 90s (91 or 92) but I think they were originally painted in late 80s by my cartoonist uncle, a lot of archaeologists and my sister and I. We were gutted when it had to come down, I was particularly proud of my Queen Elizabeth.

Apologies for the photos of photos.

Found some more old bits.

I helped paint this definitely 91 around May/June time

Pretty sure there was a repaint in 91 after our exams. Think there was another after that around college time too. I remember Summertime by Fresh Prince and Good Vibrations by Marky Mark were on the radio.

Was 91, perhaps it was a re-paint. Funny enough after my GCSEs in May 91. Was all around the dig!

Spooky looking picture this one.

If you want to know more about Southampton in wartime there is a Southampton Blitz Tour coming up soon - 25th July.
