If that’s Milton Road we’re looking down, I used to live there too.

I used to live on Wilton Avenue Pap. Just think, we could have thrown rubbish i.e. old BBQs in each others gardens.

Probably but let’s not rake up old graves. What’s done is done.

Jesus there’s a lot of old photos of Saints here on this thread of 21 pages.

You want more old Saints pictures? They are all packed up at the moment, but mid August I can get them on here if you want.

Looks like one of the proclaimers!!

^^^ Location is Green Lane Rec, Millbrook.

My nan used to live at 61 Green lane. This must be the rec behind the towers?

Maybe a new thread for saints pics? I liked pics of soton but not so keen on trawling through the photos of players.

From that pic I remember going to a few of those…the Silouhette club, seeing The Elephant Man at the pics and Underground records.

That is strange, as I was thinking there were not enough of old Southampton players and The Dell. I have tried to keep it as mixed as I can. I think there are less than 3 pages on SFC compared to 19 of Southampton in general on this thread.

The changing face of Western Shore, Millbrook (all images looking east, roughly towards Town Quay)

c1850 (Railway opened in 1840)

No the rec behind Millbrook Towers is Mansel Road Rec. The one in the picture is at the Millbrook roundabout end of Green Lane.

Used to frequent the rack and manger pub on the winchester to stockbridge road - they once had a hexagonal pool table - silly fad as you needed to rotate the table to play, and as you did so, all the balls moved - D’oh!

King Alfred was also a good pub.
