Swindon’s finest.

I’d dispute that.

I think Reg and the boys were from Andover.

Bugger - I’m going to have to look it up now.

No need, definitely Andover mate.

Dammit, you’re right. Why have I always thought they were from Swindon? It’s not as if the two places are that easy to get mixed up. If I’d thought they were from Aldershot then that would at least have been understandable.

Andover’s finest though, to be fair. :grinning:

That’s certainly beyond dispute.

Unless you include Ronnie Bond, who is my personal favourite from Andover

When I was a kid, growing up on a farm near Winchester, we had one of the relatively early crop circles (early 80s, just the plain circle, none of your fancy designs
before they sold out), and Reg Presley came to check it out for alien activity, with loads of measuring instruments. He was a bloody weirdo. My mum still gave him a cuppa though.

Dear old Reg was really into his UFOs, when his royalties came in after Wet Wet Wet had a massive hit with ‘Love Is All Around’, a considerable sum, he spent most of it traveling the world UFO spotting. He was obsessed with alien activity, as you say, a bit of a weirdo but in the nicest possible way. By all accounts a genuinely lovely man.

Oh yeah, he wouldn’t have got a cuppa if he was a bad weirdo.
