I remember the Davy Crockett hat fad of '55. A lot of cats went missing that Christmas.
It was my favourite song when i was seven or eight. My mother sent in a request to Uncle Mac,(remember him?) for it to be played for my birthday. I remember the family gathered round the radio when he read it out and wished me happy birthday before playing it. I was the talk of the village for about a week!
On a more sombre note i think Uncle Mac was exposed many years later as someone who had similar hobbies as Jimmy Saville. If only we had known!
Ha yep âChildrenâs Choiceâ with Uncle Mac. I liked âSparkyâs Magic Pianoâ and âThe Happy WandererââŠFal da Ree.
I think it was called Childrenâs Favouritesâ. Wasnât Uncle Mac also the voice for Larry the Lamb?
Yeah I think youâre right.
