Completely agree Pap. Not good form at all. Except when I do it, when there’s probably a really good reason that makes it completely justifiable.
Pap has laid it on the line. He has called me out. He is up in my grill as the youngsters would say.
let me deal with this in small, numbered paragraphs:
-
I never mentioned Chertsey or anyone by name when quoting swf posts. I was merely saying that this is what I had read over there
-
I never knew that Unbelievable Jeff was the same person as Cherstey (I actually did know, but you aren’t to know that)
-
I would tell you all my swf identity, but it is a rather complex situation that is easier dealt with by ignoring it. I have had a number of personas over there (you’re only getting this info because it’s mid week/monday wine/whiskey night) so to tell you who am I am/was/will be will only cause confusion and disappointment and possibly hatred. And although I welcome hatred, it’s harder to bear during the mid week wine/whiskey period.
-
I would like to apologise to pap for bring swf shit to papsweb (although I don’t actually mean it) and I would like to apologise to Chertsey for highlighting the stupidity of his swf character (although I didn’t know it has him and even though I actually did know it was him, I don’t mean any apology to be taken seriously)
i trust this staisfies everyone involved.
Aw, Fatso opened his soul up to us! I do love Fatso! Tell us more!
Shit, what if Fatso is Hypo? Nope, I still think I’ll love Fatso…nothing can deter me.

My eldest son has been openly gay for about fifteen years, during which time he has lived, studied and worked in various locations in the UK and abroad. Here are some observations based on his personal experience (none of them ground-breaking, I would have thought!)
- The gay community exists in virtually all locations and across all demographics.
- Homophobia, especially overt homophobia, is decreasing but occasionally still rears its ugly head in virtually all locations and demographics, although there are locations and demographics where this is less, or more, likely to happen.
- The decrease in homophobia is almost certainly being driven by an increasingly educated, caring, understanding, empathetic and laissez-faire attitude in society, particularly amongst young people.* The decrease in overt homophobia is aided by legislation. *It has to be said, however, that the overt homophobia my son experiences is most often perpetrated by young people aged from about 15 to 21.
- Some gay people still find it very difficult to be open about their sexuality, especially to their families, because a lot of people, across all demographics, are still hostile to the idea that one of their loved ones is gay.
Thanks Halo, some interesting insights. So going back to the original question, how do you feel about a Premier League footballer ‘coming out’?
but View From The Top works in FE and he says kids are not homophobic. He should know given that he works in FE. With all the kids. In his FE college in Staffordshire, where he gathered all his data about the young people . He knows about young peoples views on being gay. He teaches in FE. And he sells shit on eBay.
I’ll field that! I’m MASSIVELY interested in the sex lives of ALL footballers, celebrities, the girl next door, and tbh, even some some random bloke you met on holiday 3 years ago who had an uncle right and he said one time when he was in singapore etc. I am no judgement tho, I am just pure perverted interest. I want to know who it is, who his boyfriend is, and what sort of things they get up to pls ASAP
You’re like a Turkish-lite sometimes, Bearsy!
Just as well Lou. If not you would have very few to chose from!
I have a sister who is gay, Bearsy (true story). Send me a PM. I’ll have a word with her.
Kids are loads less homophobic than the teenagers of my day. The youngest offered the opinion that “gay people are cool” at twelve. I was an ignorant little git until I got to Uni.
Having spent twenty further years on this planet, I know lots of gay people. I recognise the situation Halo refers to. Many gay people I know haven’t told all of their relatives, especially members older generation who tend to be a bit more entrenched in their views. I’ve seen people treated appallingly on account of their sexuality by people that I respected and expected a lot better from.
I think that generally, most sensible people don’t give a fuck about whether someone is gay or not, but there are people who can be all kinds of sensible on most issues, that just can’t get past their prejudice. You would love to merely term it ignorance, and perhaps back in the day, that would have partially justified the irrationality.
Thing is, gay people have been out in the open for decades now. Even the most ardent homophobe knows, deep down, that a gay man is not going to try and bum him just because he’s gay, even though in many cases, that’s what Mr Homophobe wants.
Well, Lou, for the sake of the advancement of the acceptance of gay people within society then I think it would be helpful; but, I can understand why gay players are hesitant to be the first to come ‘out’: unfortunately, there is still a small minority of people who will do their upmost to make life difficult for them, not to mention all the unwanted attention from certain sectors of the media.
There are few things funnier than a smelly fat ugly retard looking at a young and physically fit gay bloke and exclaiming ‘well he’d better not try it on with me!’
