England as we know it didnt just come from the Normans. It has been a work in progres since we crawled out of the swamp. They didnt assimlate, they conquered and they took over. William was our King. His barons were given the land that was owned by Angl Saxons. They had total control. They didnt come and adopt our language and customs. The people living here at the time had to adapt to the Norman way of doing things. But over a couple of hundred years we stopped speaking French and evloved into something else - English. Over several hundred years which is exactly what many of us have been trying to get you to understand. It takes time for integrate or assimilate. It doesnt happen over night. We didnt turn into Normans overnight once they defeated Harold’s army. It took a while for them to stamp their authority on the Anglo Saxons, but that is what happened and they took over. It is not difficlut to see how because the country is scattered with Norman castles and churches. There was no such thing as English when the Normans conquered the Anglo Saxons so the Normans didnt turn into “us” the populus eventually developed its own identitity, something different. Over time. Just as the country is slowing changing with the influx of migrants. Slowly changing because these things take time. It is you, my xenophobic friend, who needs to learn basic history.
By the way Barry, there is a big difference between social integration and a full blooded invasion that involves the mutilation of the existing monarch followed by a total overhaul and replacement of the existing order.
I have also done the language thing but once again, they brought their own language (mainly what we would call French) and that language was spoken by the nobility here until around the time of King John. If fact that most famous of Kings, Richard the Lion Heart, spent most of his time in France and spoke mostly French.
So the Normans didn’t keep it, they intergrated? Like they did in modern day France and elsewhere, that was their success.

There’s no work to be done in England. Gays can get married, have sex, have a civil partnership ( something straight couples can’t have, maybe that’s the work that needs to be done). There is no institutionalised homophobia in the west, unlike the Muslim world. There maybe a few individual dinosaurs amongst the indigenous population, but nothing like the % within Mo’s followers.
