Been on this forum about three days before being rushed to casualty. Got out in time to watch last night, but couldn’t be arsed to write stuff then, hence a late post now. Maybe appreciation of the performance matured a bit overnight. This was a Mourinho side we could easily have beaten, though it was also just our luck their keeper had a good one. Had the (non) penalty gone in, we might have scored a few as the game opened up. As it was MU just played the 9-0-1 or whatever. Yoshi and Stephens look better every week, don’t forget also that when VVD is back, then Stephens can be a pretty passable DM, can just see him and Rom together there, one or the other going forward at times.
Am still pro another season for Claude but now think he won’t get one. RK and Les Reed didn’t exactly look ecstatic when the cameras panned to them, and Souness remarked that Ralph saying (in effect) that they’ll look at his future next week in the light of the performance against Stoke was not exactly a vote of confidence. See Claude’s also now being linked with Inter - but frankly that would be far too big a step down from Saints.
