Rio Olympics 2016

Ha ha ha, was just about to say… That ruined it slightly and now, catwalk and dancers… Might be it for me!

The floor does look like a giant game of Cystal Castles from the Atari 2600 is about to breakout though!

Or Pong!

Jeez, the road race has turned into a crashy finish.

Last 8KM if you want to tune in on BBC 1

The cycling was a bit of a damp squib and that descent looked as forgiving as the TT course.

You had to feel for the guy who inherited the lead but didn’t have enough energy to hold it.

Watching opening ceremony on catch up after a day of updates on the Archery via FB from Mrs D_P (her fiteh pal is 42nd or something in the qualifiers)

And to my complete amazement just spotted a fitehs carrying a flag who (famously) snogged me in Public - Carolina carrying the Danish flag no less so it was 1-0 to me then the Poles won Bronze in the fall over & crash race (which wasn’t on TV here)

Meanwhile controlled explosion at bike finish, bullet through the media tent at Equestrian and a robber shot at Maracas last night

Our women’s 7s team has done okay today - there are a couple of right beasts who have been roughing up Japan and Brazil.

Big game against Canada tomorrow…

When I get time I’ll work on some complex joke about tackle, hand-offs and it not being the first time that one or two of them have stuck their fists in Brazilians…leave it with me.

How is Brasil?

French Gymnast took a nasty one to the leg… bad break :lou_sad:

That leg does the twist like I did it 30 years ago

How come people are not moaning that GB have no medals after less than 24 hours of competition ?

What sort of country meltdown is this?

Oh good grief.

The Paramedics dropped that poor sod who smashed his leg up…

Warning the article shows photos of his leg - perhaps not something to open if you are about to eat Sunday Lunch

Ouch - and ouch again.

Flesh wound.

Je suis le break

If that had been someone like Redgrave or Hoy they’d have just apologised for holding up proceedings, run it off and prepared for the next round of competition, not jacked it in.

I can only assume that bloke is from Nancy.

So. Anot her day with Null Pwoints?

Muslims?

Great to see Richard Kruse doing so well in the foil. I was there in London when he crashed and burned in the first round and almost packed it in. It’s going to be tough but he is now in with a real chance of a medal.

Pur lads also stand a reasonable chance in the team foil so keep and eye for them.

As a fencer (epee in my case) it is bloody brilliant to see us doing well in an olympics for once. London was brilliant but the British fencers were really not at all competitive back in 2012.

Horrendous crash in the women’s road race. Sickening she was not moving!

Anna van Vleuten She went over the handlebars head first into the curb! :lou_sad:

A nasty, nasty crash in the women’s road race.

The leader (Dutch) crashed on the descent - went over the handlebars and smashed into the curb.

Horrible. Hope she’s OK.
