:labour: 🌅 Red Dawn - Life Under Labour

Reform are defined by what they are opposed to. They have no actual policies

Their manifesto at the last election stated their policy aims in broad terms but lacked detail. The tax / spending cuts and investment statements would be financially unworkable and hugely injurious to the country.
You’re correct on their definition. And it’s easy to be gobby from the sidelines when they have no responsibility. Now they have responsibility though. Will be interesting to see how they use it and defend the inevitable failings.

A microcosm of modern geezer based Britishness in that definition as well

I see Labour have got the trade deal with India over the line which is good news

India have set a target of increasing exports by $1tn by 2030 - they have almost unlimited cheap labour - I reckon there could be a falling out with China at some point, because that $1tn is likely to come from them

It will be chinese factories in India
The west gave China its tech.
India is great at making stuff cheaply, not so great at the creative side.
Maybe in q0 /15 years they could get mobile phones and data centre products to market

Fuck 'em all…

Absolutely spot on. But sadly people will take no notice because it’s not what they want to hear.

It also rather overlooks the small problem posed by the fact that the groups ripping us off are also the groups that decide who’s going to be in or out of government. Democratic elections have been largely an illusion for as long as I can remember, and it’s only getting worse. How many people actually voted in the last election for a party they approved of? I’d bet very few, most people voted against what they didn’t want rather than in support of what they did, because what they did want wasn’t on offer from any party. And if it had been, that party would have been nobbled in double quick time.

Hold your nose voting

I think this will get a lot of love here…

Incidentally, it’s not just us. The recent German elections returned AfD as the second largest party, with a large share of the vote. The government has now classified them as an extremist organisation, just in case the other parties pledges not to work with them in government isn’t enough to keep them out of power. Democracy is fine until those currently in charge don’t like the result.

Not just you.
