:labour: 🌅 Red Dawn - Life Under Labour

I would want the same powers for the South of Eng;and at that point we dissolve Parliament because it is surplus to use.

I’d vote for that.

It’s not

Ooh more jobs doing nothing.
Where do i apply?

Compare and contrast this humble roadsweeper, who barely earns a living wage and has no influence over anybody, wasn’t allowed to accept a holiday from his appreciative locals because he is a public servant with the current shenanigans of our new Prime Minister and his ministers and their government of change, falling over each other to get to the trough!
------- and we had to oust Jeremy because he was going to take our troughs away’
And while we’re at it, I would like Angela to tell us all how we can get a 5 night stay in a £2.5 million luxury penthouse apartment with a gym, jacuzzi and swimming pool in Manhattan over the Christmas/New Year period for 1,250 quid. Surely she wouldn’t want people to think she was deliberately understating the true value of this particular “donation”. Heaven forbid!

Suck off Lord Alli

This is an old story

He works for an outsourced firm

“They said the company’s contract with Bromley council “does not permit our staff to accept any monies or incentives outside of agreed pay structures”.”

Ok it would be good to be able to send the bloke on a holiday, but anyone know the tax implications on the fella if it was accepted?

There is some bullshit with these donations - if it’s for running your office / electoral purposes, then I get it

But 40th birthday parties, the Mrs wardrobe, or a NY party in NYC - fuck off and pay for it yourself

Boris was just as bad

They could have individually gifted the money to him, I would have collected the money from the street and then paid for the holiday directly and told his company to mind their own business

The only tax consideration would be if I croaked within 7 years of the gift (not that it would ever been discovered)

No, he was much worse.

Let’s just look at some of Johnson’s “perks” and rule breaking - and this isn’t a complete list is it….

https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/boris-johnson-broke-rules-no-punishment/

But nobody did that did they. Just easier to show faux outrage. Which is easier to do and needs next to no effort.

What’s worse, someone unashamedly filling their boots, or someone who spends years criticising someone filling their boots and then doing just that when the opportunity presents itself?

They are as bad as one another, Boris was always a grifter but I’m not sure he ever pretended to be anything but

Agreed. Johnson’s difference is imho that he felt/feels that he is/was entitled to any and every freebie without consequences. Unfortunately everyone just enabled his behaviour.

The comments.:smile: “How do you think she got that lisp?” :joy:

Not everyone, no. As I’ve said before, all these voices wailing about his elevation to PM are from the people that put him there, albeit inadvertently.

I have no idea if this is true or misrepresented or is something that has always been there - the source is the Mail

bur - Is there genuinely of ÂŁ68k job in government titled Chief Photographer to the Deputy PM?

Edit: The title kinda suggests there is more than one

Saw the in t’Independent. Seems it’s to chronicle the whole department not the individual :man_shrugging:

Nurses have rejected a 5.5% pay rise

Having just seen their much better paid senior collegues got 22% by being militant, i reckon that this one wont go away quickly.
