People Who Historically Worked with Clay vs. The Mighty Southampton - Match Thread

So dissapointed that I’d already used my three posts when I tried posting this on sweb

Fk me the stench of ammonia rising over Hampshire. Who’s up for organising a tiki torch parade looking for witches? Maybe we’ll find all the toys that have been lost this afternoon. I hate international break but it could be the time out many appear to need.

Not sure how we lost that. We were the better side. Hmmm interfuckingnational break now

Puel out!

Two wrongs don’t make a right, we’re getting worse in the sense of players we have, thats not the managers fault. It was always going to happen.

Lemina and Hoedt are good additions. Have faith my fickle friend.

So it wasn’t Puel’s fault last year?

You owe him a massive apology.

Puel was a yes man who accepted the boards decision to sell the best players when he joined.

I don’t think you’re remembering the timing properly, just saying what suits.

What player transfers do you think he ok’d after he arrived?

I thought Hoedt has looked really good and looked better with every game. So he gets dropped. How to piss off a player in one easy lesson. If they must play Van Dyke, ( and personally i have my doubts, he is surely gone in January, won’t want to jeopardise that by picking up an injury so won’t be 100% commited), but if they must play him then partner him with Hoedt. That leaves Yoshi, who of course doesn’t deserve to get dropped either. So long on the bench and Yoshi playing up front! :lou_wink:

Got to be 5-3-2 / 3-5-2.

Yoshi VVD Hoedt as a back three would be v. good imho.

Cedric Lemina Oriol Davis/Tadic Bertrand

Long/Austin Gabbiadini

I know it’s not our 'preferred 4-3-3 but I think it’s the best use of the players we’ve got.

JWP, Boufal, Stephens, Hojberg, Sims, Mcqueen, Bednarek, Targett and Redmond available too.

Just a striker light I reckon and that’s not a bad squad.

Lemon may be key, and he did some good stuff today, but assume you are ignoring the woeful passing straight to the opposition - watch the game again and see.

Maybe, but how about this.

In a world were all the rich teams are spending big on FBs, let’s dump ours and go all Kevin Keegan.

Yoshi - Hoedt - V(i think Liverpool will do best of the PL teams in Europe) V(i think Sturridge is the best striker in the PL) D(i think I’m a cunt)

JWP - Romeu - :lemon:

Tadic - Gabbiadini - Austin - Boufal

We might concede a few more, but we’ll score more.

Yeah! no.

We need forwards finding the net first! No point having three more people cluttering up their box. Today Manalo got right in the way of Boof, who I thought played so much better than in previous appearances.

Wasn’t being serious(not completely).

Boufal on the left is a mental idea(for now). He needs to be in the middle, but behind the striker(he did look much more like a team player today).

I don’t really think forwards finding the net is the problem, rather the service(when it eventually comes) is slow and poor quality. Our overlapping play is the only threat we have(even that is now slow) if you ignore Redmond and/or Long running fast for no reason and everyone knows it and is prepared for it.

I still think there’s a good team in there somewhere, we’ll just have to give it time(a thing that should be no surprise).

From a life time of doing the kind thing living in the sticks I have never seen a rabbit with mixy look nervous. Far from it. It was pretty much carpe diem.

Can anyone who was there please confirm this crazy rumour circulating, that Boufal is finally starting to look like someone who in suitable conditions, might just be able to tell the difference between his arse and his elbow?

Absolute bullshit. He had Austin and VVD out for half a season each, had midweek Europa league games to contend with, got us to a cup final and we finished 8th. That’s a pretty good return. There’s no way of knowing if we’d have pushed on a bit this season but I’m pretty sure a year’s experience in the Premier League would have stood him in good stead this time round.

Instead, we’re back to square one…in fact, based on what we’ve seen so far we seem to be moving backwards despite decent additions to the squad and no Europa League distractions.

Still, at least the know-nothing fuckwits got what they wanted.

8th is a smokescreen and you know it.
8th and how many points were we from the previous season?
Who did we sell?

Now the Cup run was great but the Europa wasn’t good enough for the amount of money we spent or where do you compare us to in Europe?

Either we take Cup competitions seriously or we don’t, if we don’t we’ll forever be the biggest least successful club.

Puel got sacked for

Not enough wins.
Poor tactics.
Lack of ambition in games.
Sideways passing.
Do you honestly think the fans had the say in the sacking?
The fans have no say in the sacking ha ha Jesus wept you’ll be saying the board care next.

Just about sums it up TiCK
