If this goes through then financially it’s a no brainier.As a replacement for Fonte short term even if they are paying him the equivalent of 100k /week until the end of the season the the actual cost is what they pay him less than what they would have paid Fonte plus the £8milllion they got for him then kerching.
If he helps save the season it’s good.
I’m going to reserve judgment until I read the announcement on the official site.
If it reads “Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of…” then chances are he is going to be good.
However, if it reads “Southampton Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of…” then chances are he is going to be pants.
By way of example, we were ‘delighted’ to announce Gabbiadini, Boufal and VVD etc but only ‘pleased’ to announce Martina and Hassen etc.
Has anybody else ever noticed this trend?
