He was hopeless. Really, heroically dreadful, the only way it could have got any worse was if he’d suddenly introduced “tonight’s special guest, John Otway.”
But somehow, it was great fun. He’s such a sincere bloke, charming and genuinely amusing. My nephew joined us, and we all enjoyed the show and drove home laughing and smiling.
