Only Manchester United stand between Claude Puel’s men and a place in the history books, and captain Davis believes his side are ready to rise to the occasion.
“Whenever you get those butterflies before a game you know there’s something riding on it,” he explained.
“I like to get that feeling before a game and given the stage it is on and what is at stake, I am sure there will be a few of those before Sunday.
“It’s not nerves, it’s an excitement that it is an important game for everybody. You’ve got 90 plus minutes, with the potential of extra-time and penalties, to go and get yourself some silverware.
“We will be doing our upmost to try and achieve that, and I am sure the fans will be in full voice and right behind us. Hopefully together we can make it a memorable day.”
Although today will be Davis’ first visit to Wembley, he is no stranger to the pressures of a cup final.
During his four-year spell with Rangers the 32-year-old won three Scottish League Cups and two Scottish Cups – experiences he will look to draw on when facing United.
“Hopefully the experience of playing in previous finals will help me,” he continued.
“I think if it is a new experience for people then you don’t really know what to expect. There’s so much riding on one game and you are so high on adrenaline.
“Everybody thrives going into a cup final. Everyone wants to go and do their best, but having the experience of being there and doing it before will help settle me into the game, I am not too worried about that.”
