While Spurs are only moving next door, and the new stadium will help the club move with the times, it’s always a sad occasion when an old football ground closes its doors forever.
But though football clubs move on, fans will always remember their team’s old home – indeed, the supporters’ old home.

The behind-closed-doors game will signal the end of Saints’ Under-18 Premier League campaign, and Fleming believes it will be a fitting way to round off a successful season.
“It’s fantastic for the boys to get a chance to play at the stadium,” he started.
“With the way the FA Youth Cup draw went earlier in the year, we ended up playing away so they didn’t get a chance to do it.
“It’s all credit to Andy [Gray] the groundsman because he suggested that the lads finish their season on the pitch – it will be fantastic for their development.”
Sunderland currently sit one place and two points above Saints in the Group 3 table, meaning victory would see Fleming’s men leapfrog the visitors
But the Under-18s boss knows that his side will face a tough Black Cats unit.
“They have quite a settled side,” he continued.
“From what we have seen of them their FA Youth Cup is the team that has played most weeks, so they have been quite settled throughout the year.
“They play in a not too dissimilar style to what we do, so it should be a good game and one that we are looking forward to.”
