The situation could not be simpler for Boufal’s Morocco who will qualify if they avoid defeat against Côte d’Ivoire in the 17.30 GMT kick-off in Abidjan. A reverse for Les Eléphants, meanwhile, would see them pip the visitors to top spot in Group C.
The Southampton playmaker rejoins Hervé Renard’s squad having missed out on the previous round of matches in October.
It will then be the turn of Shane Long and the Republic of Ireland a couple of hours later. The Irish travel to Denmark for the first leg of their World Cup play-off, looking to reach their first finals since 2002.
A James McClean strike was enough for Ireland to beat Wales and seal their spot as runners-up in Group D. They ended their group-stage campaign on 19 points, with Duśan Tadić’s Serbia topping the section.
Their last appearance in the play-offs ended in heartbreak at the hands of France, in 2009. If Martin O’Neill’s men can avoid defeat at FC Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium, they will fancy their chances of finishing the job at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday night.

With World Cup qualifiers and friendlies taking place across the globe, we look at how Premier League players got on during the international break.
There were plenty of players on international duty as the Premier League took a weekend off, with some important goals scored alongside some significant injuries.
Here’s a round-up of how players from your Premier League team got on…
Olivier Giroud scored in France’s 2-0 friendly win over Wales at the Stade De France, with Laurent Koscielny helping the hosts keep a clean sheet. Alexandre Lacazette was a second-half substitute, while Aaron Ramsey started for Wales.
Granit Xhaka started for Swizterland as they took a 1-0 first-leg lead against Northern Ireland in the World Cup play-offs.
Mesut Ozil played all 90 minutes as Germany were held to a 0-0 draw by England at Wembley.
Eddie Nketiah scored the winner as England Under-19s beat Iceland 2-1 in European U19 Championship qualifying.

Romelu Lukaku equalled the all-time Belgium goalscoring record after scoring twice against Mexico in Friday night’s 3-3 friendly draw.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored Armenia’s second goal as they ran out 4-1 winners over Belarus in a friendly. Daley Blind started in midfield for the Netherlands in their 1-0 friendly win in Scotland.
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored Serbia’s second goal in their 2-0 friendly victory over China.
Chancel Mbemba played for DR Congo as they finished their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-1 win over Guinea. The result was not enough for DR Congo to qualify for the World Cup.
Ciaran Clark captained the Republic of Ireland as they held Denmark to a 0-0 draw in their World Cup play-off first leg.
Xherdan Shaqiri earned a controversial penalty for Switzerland, with the resulting spot-kick handing them a 1-0 advantage over Northern Ireland going into the second leg of the World Cup play-offs. Joe Allen started for Wales in their 2-0 loss to France on Friday.

Fraser Forster thinks Ronald Koeman would be a fantastic choice for the Dutch national side
Koeman, 54, is currently hunting for a new job after being axed by Everton last month following two wins in nine league games this season.
And he has been heavily tipped to become the new boss of the Dutch national side.
Current coach Dick Advocaat has confirmed he will be stepping down later this month and Koeman has been touted as the ideal replacement.
Koeman has never coached a national side before and he distanced himself from the post while in charge of Everton.
But Forster, 29, who worked with the Dutchman at Southampton, believes his old gaffer would thrive if he went in that direction.

Long helps Ireland to important draw

Martin O’Neill’s side earned what could be a vital 0-0 in Copenhagen, as they put themselves in a strong position for Tuesday’s second leg, in Dublin.
Long started the game on the bench, but was introduced in the 74th minute for Daryl Murphy.
Cyrus Christie had the best chance of the night for Ireland, with a surging run into the area from the right wing just before half-time, but Kasper Schmeichel made a superb save from him on the angle.
Ireland had to endure a fair bit of pressure themselves at times, but they held firm, and will now look to book their place in the 2018 finals on Tuesday.

Sofiane Boufal was part of the Morocco squad that booked a place in the FIFA World Cup tonight, as they won 2-0 away to Ivory Coast.
Hervé Renard’s team needed just a point from their visit to the State Félix Houphouët-Boigny, in Abidjan, to ensure a place at the 2018 finals, but they made sure they claimed all three.
A win for Ivory Coast would have seen them qualify at the expense of Morocco, but any nerves for the visitors were settled thanks to a pair of swift first-half goals.
Nabil Dirar put them ahead after 25 minutes, as his cross from the right eluded everyone and ended up going past a diving Ivory Coast keeper, Sylvain Gbohouo.
Just five minutes later it was 2-0, as the Atlas lions’ captain, Medhi Benatia, produced a smart first-time finish from Mbark Boussoufa’s corner.
That proved to be enough for Morocco, who comfortably saw out the rest of the game to ensure their spot in Russia next summer.

The Irish were controversially beaten 1-0 in Belfast on Thursday night, after a dubious penalty handed the Swiss a first leg advantage.
Manager Michael O’Neill, who described the decision for an alleged handball against Corry Evans as “bewildering”, has urged his players to channel their anger and use it to help book their place in the 2018 finals, in Russia.
Saints midfielder Davis is expected to again captain his country for the match, in Basel (5pm GMT), as Northern Ireland look to reach the World Cup finals for the first time since 1986.
