Chelsea top the Premier League; Middlesbrough are the most boring team to watch, but who is the best at scoring from distance? Telegraph Sport investigates . . .
It may only be March but Tottenham have already played their last 3pm Saturday kick-off at White Hart Lane before they move to Wembley next season.
With the bigger sides’ games more likely to be broadcast live, Spurs and Arsenal have had fewer Saturday 3pm kick-offs between them this season than London rivals Crystal Palace.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea combined have not played in the slot as many times as Palace, Stoke or Sunderland - who have all played at 3pm on Saturday 17 times this season.
Manchester United foot the bill as the team who have had the least amount of traditional kick-off times, with only four games in the slot.
Jose Mourinho’s side are scheduled for only one more 3pm kick-off in their remaining 12 Premier League fixtures.
And the trend trickles down to the Championship. High-flying sides Newcastle and Leeds have turned out only 15 and 12 times at 3pm on Saturday this season respectively, while bottom-placed Rotherham have played 24 of their 36 league games at that time.
Steven Davis has been named in Michael O’Neill’s 24-man Northern Ireland squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifying match with Norway on 26th March at Windsor Park.
The Southampton man, who has been named as Saints’ club captain since his previous involvement on the international stage, is expected to lead his country into the Group C game in a fortnight’s time.
Davis featured in his country’s previous games before the New Year against Azerbaijan and Croatia, which left Northern Ireland second in the group, having won two, drawn one and lost narrowly to World Champions, Germany, in Hannover.
The Saints man will link up with his country following the trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 19th March.
