Manchester United have won the most titles in that time with 13, while Blackburn, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Leicester have also been crowned champions of England since the competition started.
But those six do not make up the top six - which is occupied by the teams who have never been relegated to the Championship.

THE Premier League player of the month award has been running since August 1994, but which club has landed the most?
While the award recognises an individual, the team they are playing for at the time they win it clearly plays a part.
Ten clubs, including Crystal Palace, Hull and Middlesbrough have had a player win the award just once - but our countdown is of the 22 teams with multiple winners.
Three second-half strikes in nine minutes sunk Saints at Motspur Park, as a Michael Elstone double and single strike from substitute Jayden Harris did the damage.
The first half of the encounter was one of few chances, though it was Craig Fleming’s men that looked closest to breaking the deadlock.
Jonathan Afolabi slipped Will Smallbone into the penalty area on the half-hour mark for the chance of the half, but the midfielder dragged his effort wide of the far post.
Afolabi and Smallbone then combined after the restart to send Siph Mdlalose scampering free into the penalty area, but he was unable to lift his shot over Taye Ashby-Hammond in the Fulham goal.
Afolabi then had another chance before the hosts took the lead, as Javen Siu flew down the left flank and cut back for the Irish striker, but he was unable to convert.
Elstone then broke the deadlock on 70 minutes as he confidently tucked under Kingsley Latham after a swift passing move through the middle of the park.
Harris was then introduced in favour of Atli Adrason and immediately made an impact, as his strike from the left deflected in off Aaron O’Driscoll just two minutes later to double Fulham’s advantage.
The afternoon’s scoring was then complete in the 79th minute as Elstone doubled his personal tally. Latham did well to get down low and deny Harris’ original strike, but Elstone pounced on the rebound and tucked in from close range to make it 3-0.
Saints fell to three second-half strikes in nine minutes at Motspur Park, but had enough chances to be ahead before the hosts netted their opener on the 71st minute.
“Disappointment is the overriding feeling at the end of it,” explained Fleming.
“At half time and 10 or so minutes into the second half it was 0-0 and we were still creating lots of chances. I think we counted four or five one-on-ones.
“But there wasn’t enough quality in the final third, by a long way. And as football does, if you aren’t sharp around your own box you end up coming away with a defeat - that’s what happened today.”
Fleming believes his side ‘capitulated’ following Michael Elstone’s opener, which then led to the hosts adding two more to their tally.
And the manager admits he had to take a serious tone with the players after the match.
“It’s getting the seriousness of it across to them,” he continued.
“The importance of needing to do your jobs both defensively and attacking wise. They are coming up to an age now where it’s not necessarily young academy football where everything is nice.
“There are serious decisions to be made on their careers in the short-term future, so they’ve got to realise that they have to really put 100% in to doing both things for 90 minutes.”
